Winter Lights Celebrations
A Labrador West Annual Event
This winter event is a part of a national program that encourages municipalities to promote a sense of community pride through this decorative, cultural, and spiritual program. Labrador City becomes a winter wonderland with bright festive lights and activities during this event. The town organizes an illuminated Santa Claus parade, an ecumenical celebration of light and a tree lighting ceremony in Centennial Park, complete with hot chocolate and fires burning bright to warm participants. Residents participate in a "light up" competition where monetary winnings are donated to local charitable organizations
