Community Health Clinic - Nain
Health services
The Nain Community Health Clinic operates under the Labrador-Grenfell Health Authority. A large, modern Community Clinic, the facility in Nain provides primary health care to the community. It is staffed by one Regional Nurse II, five Regional Nurse Is, five Personal Care Attendants, one Laboratory Attendant, four Maintenance Repairers and one Clerk Typist. A physician visits monthly and a dentist visits the community periodically. There is a Child, Youth and Family Services office in the community clinic. The community clinic has four holding beds, and a modern incubator. Basic trauma and resuscitation equipment is provided, as well as a defibrillator. Emergency patients are medevaced to the appropriate referral centre. Labrador-Grenfell Health partners with the Nunatsiavut Department of Health and Social Services in the provision of health care. Community health services are provided by Nunatsiavut Government, through a team approach with three Public Health Nurses, two Public Health Aides, Mental Health Workers, a Psychologist, Community Service Workers and Child Care Workers. A Home Care Program has also been developed.
